One of my favorite frameworks to use for goal setting is a framework by American author Zig Ziglar. He described this renowned 7-step goal-setting framework in his pivotal book, Born to Win.

Ziglar’s method has been a game-changer for countless entrepreneurs and business leaders that I have worked it. It has helped them crystalize their visions and execute their strategies in a structured way.

Ziglar’s 7 Steps Explained:

1. Identify and Define Your Objective:
Setting a clear, specific goal is your starting point.

2. What Will You Gain?
List the personal and professional benefits that will drive your journey.

3. Identify Potential Roadblocks:
Foreseeing challenges allows you to prepare and overcome them.

4. Assess the Skills and Knowledge Required:
Identify the essential skills and knowledge you'll need on your journey.

5. Find Your Allies:
Collaboration can offer you invaluable support, resources, and expertise.

6. Formulate a Detailed Action Plan:
Your action plan is your roadmap—make sure it's comprehensive.

7. Set a Deadline:
Goals need deadlines for accountability and to instill a sense of urgency.
